چکیده

Soil erosion has become one of the most serious environmental problems worldwide, and rainfall is considered a crucial factor in water erosion. Rainfall erosivity defined as ability precipitation to trigger soil The accurate assessment essential before taking appropriate measures stop or slow down In this study, we calculated China using Xie model two satellite-based products (SPPs). Gauge-based data from 2417 stations were used for comparison results. We also proposed procedure assess performance SPPs four statistical metrics provided recommendations different sub-regions at time scales. results showed that annual based on IMERG-F TMPA 3B42-V7 situ gauge 2014, 1954, 2138 MJ·mm/(hm2·h·yr), respectively. spatial correlation between 0.944 product 0.909. variation trends highly similar those gauge-based all recommended estimating Haihe River Basin Huaihe monthly scale, seasonal Basin, Yellow scale; while remaining regions except Continental Basins three Generally, broader applicability than China. study provide reference selecting suitable estimates.

Rainfall erosivity in Europe.

Rainfall is one the main drivers of soil erosion. The erosive force of rainfall is expressed as rainfall erosivity. Rainfall erosivity considers the rainfall amount and intensity, and is most commonly expressed as the R-factor in the USLE model and its revised version, RUSLE. At national and continental levels, the scarce availability of data obliges soil erosion modellers to estimate this fact...

Object-Based Assessment of Satellite Precipitation Products

An object-based verification approach is employed to assess the performance of the commonly used high-resolution satellite precipitation products: Precipitation Estimation from Remotely Sensed Information using Artificial Neural Networks (PERSIANN), Climate Prediction center MORPHing technique (CMORPH), and Tropical Rainfall Measurement Mission (TRMM) Multi-Satellite Precipitation Analysis (TMP...

Investigating the Applicability of Error Correction Ensembles of Satellite Rainfall Products in River Flow Simulations

This study uses a stochastic ensemble-based representation of satellite rainfall error to predict the propagation in flood simulation of three quasi-global-scale satellite rainfall products across a range of basin scales. The study is conducted on the Tar-Pamlico River basin in the southeastern United States based on 2 years of data (2004 and 2006). The NWSMultisensor Precipitation Estimator (M...

Evaluation of Precipitation Products of TRMM Satellite in Precipitation and Erosion Rate Monitoring across Iran

Extended abstract 1- Introduction     In order to calculate the erosive power of rainfall, high-resolution precipitation data are necessary for rainfall erosion evaluation. However, collecting the required data on kinetic energy of the rainfall particles and precipitation rates with short-term temporal resolution is a time-intensive task, particularly in developing countries, and the collecte...

Satellite-based Flood Modeling Using TRMM-based Rainfall Products

Increasingly available and a virtually uninterrupted supply of satellite-estimatedrainfall data is gradually becoming a cost-effective source of input for flood predictionunder a variety of circumstances. However, most real-time and quasi-global satelliterainfall products are currently available at spatial scales ranging from 0.25o to 0.50o andhence, are considered somewhat coarse for dynamic h...
